After about 6 months of sailing my PDQ 36 as a full time live aboard cruiser and covering many thousands of miles in a variety of sea and wind conditions I decided to extend the hulls 3'.
Project goals:
1). Better performance under sail whilst carrying gear required for extended cruising.
2). Remedy the stern heavy characteristics of the PDQ 36 and resulting dirty wakes.

Thus, the PDQ 36/39' was born. It was a labor of love and much learning. The design is mine as was all the labor. I also took the extra time to build molds so later the results could be duplicated. You can see more on the hull extension project if you look in the archives (August-November 2008) of my website http://www.PDQ36.blogspot.com
This video was the sea trial as we embarked on a offshore run from Connecticut to Virgina a voyage of many hundreds of miles offshore (Atlantic Ocean in Nov '08).
