In reading a blog and for sale ad for Indigo Moon (good reading by the way) the owner asserts that in his opinion the step over bulkhead on his Lagoon 380 would appear stiffer than the later model S2 due to the extra 4 inches or so of beef at the bottom in a step over style as opposed to a walk through main forward bulkhead. Not knowing anything about the build of Lagoons other than what I have seen at the boat shows, is this right? On the face of it, it makes some sense but do all these manufacturers give up strength for ease of use?
What is forfeit when you loose 4 inches on the bottom of a bulkhead (but is still a continuous form) and how is it made up in strength or added weight?
Enquiring minds need to know.
