No, I'm not cooking, but I am about to point you all to a meaty smorgasbord of self justification that runs the gamut from amusing to uterly enfuriating.

For one designer's analysis of why he's right and everything else is wrong, go to http://www.liveantares.com/CatamaranConcepts.htm

But don't go there before you get a fresh cold one, hit the head, and prop your feet up!

And yes, I will admit he makes a strong case for his product, but I'm looking forward to seeing this treatise sliced, diced, and analyzed here. Somebody tell Richard we need him for a while!

Witty and informative, but somebody needs to give the guy an award before he self-destructs.
Maybe a prize for justification of high freeboard?

Got through page one.

Love it.

I wish someone would start accepting alternative sail plans.

Enjoying it, pretty interesting stuff regardless of where you stand on the issues.

That site gave me an idea for a multihulls4us t-shirt... ;) Stay tuned.

Galley up makes sense for boats staying coastal in benign conditions where you are spending lots of time at anchor. They are therefore ideal for holiday cottages. I am not so much a fan for blue water sailing, and will have galley down as my preference for my next boat. I would rather have the nav station up on the bridge deck.

Horses and all that.

I understand that even a "real" cruiser spends 90% of the time at anchor.

Sooo.....to cover a 90% occurance since it does not involve a sea anchor or something like that............

OK, here we go... Inspired by a comment in the site above and incorporating the vote from http://www.multihulls4us.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1369

I created this T-Shirt: http://www.zazzle.com/no_ballast_multihulls4us_com_sailing_t_shirt-235141794616030354

Don't forget to check out the back...

I wanted to set my royalty percentage to 0%, but zazzle won't let me go below 10%. If Paul or one of the other mods/admins sets up an account at any one of these places that does on-demand products, and where the royalties go directly back to multihulls4us.com, that would be awesome, and I'll delete it from my store.

Having conversed with Ted Clements over the past year while personalizing our Antares 44i "Indigo" I have to say he is one thoughtful designer who can explain in great detail, and in convincing tehnical terms, what makes a good sea-worthy catamaran.

Personally, I have a lot of time for knowledgeable curmudgeons !

too bad most curmudgeons have not earned the right to be so :)
