Hi Folks,

Has anyone sailed around with a smallish parrot at sea?
As in African Grey or smaller.

How was your experience?
Would you recommend it?

Thanks for that.

Do you also have a wooden leg and one eye?

It depends on where exactly you are planning to cruise. Realistically, if you are planning to move between countries, travelling with any animals is an administrative and financial nightmare. Quarantine is now so strict in many countries that you will not even be allowed to stop in some of them.

A friend of mine used to have an African Grey aboard full time. Most of the time it stayed aboard but the parrot always came ashore whenever he needed a new 'first mate'. The girls all seemed to want to come and stroke his parrot and he was never alone for long. So, if you are single, go for it. If you have a partner it is not quite so clear cut:D

Let him be if he wants to be so authentic.
