Who else reckons it is time that Lesley was a visible presence on here - giving her real view of all that is going on, and of the move over to the lighter side:D

I thought she was allowed but she wasn't able to as Paul always hogged the PC. :D

Having had the pleasure of Lesley's company for a couple of weeks, yes, she should definitely be encouraged to post. However, since she has far better things to do in her life than sit in front of a pc all day - unlike us sad bastards- I wouldn't hold your breath.

Hi - I am back.
For info .... Lesley is the female version of the name and Leslie the male.:)
In this case is female hence the name is Lesley:)
I will email her the thread and let her decide but Jeannius seems to be pretty near the mark in his analysis of the situation:):)That is only my opinion of course because, I promise you that this lady can speak for herself:):)
We will now see what happens....

My apologies for incorrect spelling - Dunces cap has been placed, and I have been sent to the corner forten minutes to consider my spelling!
Never was any good at speling

Hi Everyone, Lesley here! Thanks for inviting me into the inner sanctum, in honour, as I sit here, I have rolled up my left trouser leg and I'm wearing the hat and full costume etc (or is that just a Gludy thing) :) Not to worry about the spelling, it is indeed Lesley the female way but being Gludy's partner and yachting companion , crew4him, galley slave and general skivy not to mention Forum widow, I'm used to answering to a number of names though usually followed by an expletive! Only kidding, Gludy keeps me up to date with what is going on out there, but as Mike so rightly guessed I don't get too much time right now to post, nor do I ever know what to say! If anyone had a specific question that they are just begging to be answered I will do my best. Look forward to meeting with and chatting to you all sometime soon. All good things Lesley.

Lesley
Welcome indeed.
I believe that the decision process by which you both make your decisions on the equipment and fit for your boat would be much improved by the addition of your comments, and this might help other ladies to get their feet wet in this forum.

No worries, next time we cover any of our spec decisions I will comment alongside Paul.

Still not convinced, I think this is still Paul writing on behalf of Lesley as he wont let her near his PC, you can tell, as there is not a hint of Tai Chi in the writing - :)

You may of course be right. [devil mode] But was it not a condition of becoming a moderator that you should also be encouraging your spouse to take part?
:D
Not a moderator and no wife - so I am in the clear ::)

Don't tell my wife she is not aware I am into boats. ;)
I think Paul looks very feminine in that wig and make up ::)
No offence Lesley.;)

Paul thinks and I do agree that he/we should be able to access and service all parts of the boat and plans to ascend the 70' mast before we leave the marina - despite his vertigo -most courageous! The harness is a great idea and leaves him in full control - no change there then, at least this way if he gets stuck aloft I cant possibly get the blame! This harness looks robust and secure and I will of course be more that happy to engage in making video footage of the said ascent but will not be standing directly below just in case he gets really nervous!:D. Will make sure he is in full makeup and wig just for you Ian if that's your thing. Unfortunately the harness is not my size otherwise I would have had a go too!;)

I will look forward to the video, happy about the wig and make-up, but I do draw the line at cross dressing, so please make sure he is dressed appropriately. :)

Lesley,
Don't be so sure about the harness size.
I quote Paul from the a previous post of his in the SF forum:
"You know Lesley is tiny - she is just under 5 feet.
I have explained to her that its far better for her to go up the mast than me because it puts less strain on the whole system.
I have explained that 100 years ago, or even less, she would have had no choice in the matter."
What kind of a cave man is he?:)
Welcome.

.....the kind that was clearly Born too late! This rare clan of cave males can sometimes be spotted in floating caves and often better known as the BBOFB cave men. Is there any other kind?

Thank you both, I must admit I don't think I would have actually worked out the first word, the rest I would have got, I do like it though, luckily I don't and never have had a flybridge, tiller or wheel in the cockpit, yes.
Going to have to make an admittance here :o, I don't know what SWMBO stands for , please don't try and make me work it out, I should be working. :)

Third cup went in at 11.55am! Then he did make his way downstairs, bless - suffering from caffeine withdrawal of all things!
Anyway to get back to the idea of getting more ladies to participate on the forum... any suggestions?

Just because I have started drinking decaf tea, Leley reckons I am suffering from caffeine withdrawal but not so .... she has a tendency to call everying i ever catch as man flu :)..... also 99 times out of 100 I bring her tea in bed in the morning and that fact has somehow been missed out!:):)

Paul,
Blame TALBOT for all of it as he started this thread bringing your name and staus into disrepute and taking away any escapism you may have had :D the days when men could be men seem to have now gone:(, men only clubs seem to have disappeared, even the masons (I am not one) have to have ladies nights , it is all Talbot's fault :D.

I have to agree - I mean after all he started the campaign not, you may notice. for just any spouse., but for a specific one - mine!!:(
By the way she now accepts I have a bug but you do not hear a word of withdrawal from her do you? Nope..... just silence on the subject.:)
I am going to have to keep on eye on Talbot!
