  1. Re: Back in the "saddle". This time a Maine Cat 30

We used to sail on our friend’s MC30 and loved it. Simple, well built and decent performance, also surprisingly commodious for a 30’ open bridgedeck cat! We enjoyed the open bridgedeck concept so...

Re: Anchor upgrade for a 2015 Leopard 44

A concrete block or train wheels arenít anchors but may be considered moorings. If my 20kg Manson holds better than a 40kg CQR then that design is better for my boat than the weight of the CQR. We...

No but I reckon a 20kg Manson would hold better than a 40kg CQR because it is a better design. We are talking anchors?

Re: Anchor upgrade for a 2015 Leopard 44

I agree with Victor the design is way more important than the weight. A friend of mine always told me the CQR was a great anchor as he had never drug his, but his CQR was over double the weight that...
  7. Re: Is Seawind 1160 or 1250 a good choice for blue water sailing for a couple?

To be honest your broker doesn't know what he's talking about. A light catamaran encounters less stress than a heavy catamaran because they ride on top of the water rather than through the water, and...

Re: New (to us) Assy Spinnaker

If I had my choice between screecher on a sprit or asym., there's no doubt I would take the screecher. On a good continuous line furler it was actually easier to furl than our 90% jib. We probably...

Re: Wich Cat is this one??

Definitely not a 3400. Could be mistaken for one of the first Gemini 3000 without the pilot house, but I still think it is the predecessor, the Aristocat.

I believe Rick posted a link that shows the Catalac does have sheeting points on the coach roof. My question was why does a sloop rigged boat not point well compared to other type rigs? The Catalac...

    Re: LRC versus Classic Specs

Not sure about the diesel and outboard, but the tankage was the same at 55 gallons and I believe they were putting hard tops on both the outboard and diesel model.

    Re: LRC versus Classic Specs

I believe the only difference is the outboard vs diesel. I personally wouldn't consider the diesel option on the PDQ's, to much weight and drag.
