    Re: Dyneema for steering cables?

For our steering cables we used the pre heated and stretched stuff, very stiff and hard when new. This minimizes material creep. Constructional creep from the splicing comes out with a little use.

We use Dyneema for our steering cables. If your sheaves are grooved from the cables you might be able to dress them a little bit on a lathe.

Re: Seawind 1160. Resin or Epoxy to repair?

403 is ground cotton, excellent for glue. If you add some silica (406) it will not sag. maybe 4 parts 403 to 1 part 406. 406 is HARD to sand.

I think that the boat will probably be just fine with the two 9.9's. Great power to weight ratio both vs motor weight and boat weight. I am excited to see Dick's new boat!!!

My point exactly. For some folks the emphasis is on enjoying the outdoor sailing water life experience and for some it is the kitchen and couch. Both valid points of view.
