    Default 8M/9M Differences

I am told that the hull moulding is the same for the 8m and the 9m but having sailed on both the 9M seems to have more bridgedeck clearance, unless my 8M is excessively overloaded, which is a possibility.
I am also told that the 8M is slightly faster than the 9M but I am also unsure about that.
Any ideas on the performance or structural differences between the two model would be interesting in these dull/lockdown times?

Hi, sorry for delay.. I rarely look at this forum..
The 8 and 9 have the same basic hull, but the foredeck on the 9 is raised about 6 inches or so. This gives more foot room in the double berth, plus needs the side step up to the foredeck. Because the bow is not plumb, this adds to the length a ltiile, hence the 8 to 9 transition.. I recall some articles that pointed out that the 9 and 8 have similar sailing performance.
I would recommend having along look at the CCA Catamaran Cruising Association (ex Catalac and Bobcat Association) website (https://catamarancruising.org/) and Ricks Catamaran site, where he keeps a lot reference data. https://www.catamaransite.com/
