    Great to find this forum!

Last year me and my girlfriend purchased an Endeavourcat 30 in Panama. Stayed in Panama for 6 months and then took the big step to cross the Pacific.

There are so many roomers about horrible experinces entering Australia.

We entered in Bundaberg and had given them a notification by email before we left New Caldedonia. In the did we give them our ETA but told them to bare in mind that it depends on winds and so on. our ETA was between 9th of october and 11th. Did also write our passport numbers, VISA numbers, name of boat, and some more...

Before entering Australia you have to clean the bottom. We did it in Fiji a month before.

Everything went very smooth in Bundaberg. Very nice people from qurantine and custom. We had missed one thing in our email notification, flag of the boat. He told us that but nothing more.

Qurantine lady (Amy) wanted to see if we had any shells, wood carvings and fresh food. All our wood carvings were fine she said, had no shells (there is just a couple of shells that she is looking for). Vegtable and some more did she confiscate.

The qurantine fee was about 200 AUD.

Non of the boats we have been in contact with have had any problems entering Australia.

    Best Regards
    Andreas

What sort of evidence did they require for the bottom clean?

No evidence needed. They ask you when you cleaned it last time. But if you have a lot of growth it is hard to lie We cleaned it to be sure not getting any problems.

Ah great to hear you found our website at endeavourcats site. We are really all over their website

What were your impressions of the Endeavourcat after taking it all the way across the Pacific? Were you satisfied with its performance?
I have to say, after looking at your photos, that that is one very impressive head with a separate shower, especially for such a small boat.

snort: We liked our Endeavourcat 30 and had not much to complain about. Although she is a small catamaran and not very beamy, maybe not the best catamaran to make ocean crossing on. En Endeavourcat 30 is not designed beeing fast, it is designed beeing very roomy for its size. I think out best 24h took us 164 nautical miles. But an average around 125-130 more common. The head is huge for such a small boat. The shower stall is a good thing, although we didnīt use it showering. Used it as storage. Had a shower in the cockpit we used instead.

We have never been sailing on any other catamarans so it is hard to relate. Our boat were slamming pretty much when we were going upwind. Downwind was terrific! The interior was not built going upwind to long. It were shaking a lot and on one hard passage we could see the bulkheads had been moved a little bit.
