Hi Bubba - I personally don't have any direct knowledge of this model. Suggest you inquire on the yahoo Catana Owner's forum > yahoo group, "CatanaCats".

Hi Bubba, we have no experience on a Catana 44 but we do on a 47, they are great sailing cats, comfortable and what a sailing and cruising experience we have had. due to land projects only we have ours on the market. If and when we get back into cruising again it will for sure be on a catana..

    hope this helps..

    Catanas are great sailing cats..

We bought a like new 2001 Gemini 105MC sv 'Hell Nino' (a great deal for cash) this fall from San Diego CA and are currently comfortably living aboard on the Columbia river. We love being able to moor in a std 40 ft slip at $150.00 a month. We can't live with Hell Nino as a name so we CG registered it as 'We Be Jammin'. Our best sailing speed has been 14kt in a 35 breeze from dam lock to lock 75 miles in a few hours. I did get to sail from San Diego to Catalina island for the Lattitudes and Attitudes magizine crusers party ( some of the band and Bob Bitchen are crusing buddies from crusing in the San Juan Islands in the Salish Sea this past summer.

Hi Pirate & Angel - my 471 is S/V Pas de Deux and we are currently in the Grenadines. We know the original owners of your boat quite well - in fact, our boat was on their dock when we forst went to look at her.

Good luck with the sail sale...

Hey Dave, nice to hear back from you...yes we heard back from them recently....they are thinking to go cruising again soon, maybe 7 years down the track..we may take the boat off the market and keep sailing anyway...we love our Catana...maybe we hook up some day on the sea..

    cheers
