Default OUCH!!! New Lagoon 45 Destroyed in BVI

I found this on the Yahoo Lagoon Owners Group.

It seems a new Lagoon 45 ran aground on Sandy Spit reef in the BVI.

Here is a link to the news article:

Here is a link to some more pictures. I can't believe that it was salvaged and is being rebuilt. Let the Buyer Beware on this one! Scroll down and click on the first pic for a slide show.

    Mr. B,

The same comment was made in the Yahoo Lagoon Owners Group!

    I'd have to agree!

Here's a link to the Yachtworld site advertising it for US $150k, with more pictures:

I don't think it was meant as a joke, but this is included in the description:

The decks and rig all appear intact, with no obvious structural damage. Vessel shows very nice from waterline up.

Chopper would work, may send $ thru the roof. Other option we have used in past is deck cargo

I'm sure you could, but I'd bet the cost between both the price to buy and the cost for you to repair would maybe be above the price of a new boat?

I priced a Helicopter to fly my completed 40 foot steel cat out from my home where I was building it,

The price was horrendous, but the 300 foot flight path that had to be evacuated for the flight was just not feasable,

Then I had to wait till the helicopter was available in my area.
50 grand USD was the minimum starting price,

maybe just wait until the sea level rises enough for your steel Arche to float...

After having built a catamaran myself, it amazes me when I see what they build production boats out of. So cheap. So little unidirectional glass. It's all mat and chopper guns. The stuff kind of splinters apart when damaged. Crazy.
