    Default Marina Bay Marina

Marina Bay (3609′N, 521.3′W) is the largest marina, with 200 berths, in Gibraltar. It is well located near the airport, restaurants, and shops. Their facilities are adequate if slightly worn. The piers are made of concrete and do not float with the considerable tide, so at times entering and exiting from your boat can be problematic. The marina is staffed 7/24.

In the shopping area of Marina Bay there is a health clinic.

The marina can be contacted by VHF Channel 71, or by telephone at +350 73300,

Has anyone had personal experience with this Marina to share?

We spent 10 day alongside at Gib this spring. The weather was good and we did not experience the swells that can occur in strong winds. As I said, we were alongside and pretty near the new Casino. This was bad news. The heavy 'thunk' of the disco goes till 4 o'clock on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights followed by the ritual emptying of the bottles into bins.

We put up with it until we had done what we had to do an then moved to the anchorage off La Linea but then found that even with the permission of customs (per Reeds) we were vigorously refused entry at Marina Bay in our rib - even to go to church!

Not my favourite place - I would only go for a - cheap fuel (ask for discount at shell for over 300 litres - BP will not budge) and b - if I needed something from Sheppards which has a reasonable stock of stuff. (Probably nothing you cannot get in some of the very good ferreterias in La Linea though!
