We shall soon be setting off for New Zealand and are having trouble finding any hard coyy cruising guide.

Hi join crew.org.nz it is a very active nz sailing forum and you will get answers to all your questions there.. If you are cruising over summer I particularly recommend the Hauraki gulf and Grt Barrier island particularly the east coast. I may see you there if you are around in January. From memory I think there is an Auckland shop called boat books? that will stock what you need but again ask on crew.org to make sure. How far south are you planning to go, most cruising is on the East coast from Auckland north and also the Marlborough sounds at the top of the south island.

This is essential for the North East coast of the North Island. Includes Hauraki Gulf, Bay of Islands etc. Available most chandlers and online.

Also Pickmere Atlas - Northland East Coast
if you can find a copy online second hand.

http://www.spotx.com/cruising If I remember correctly, we received an abridged local version of this in our "welcome pack" when we cleared customs in Opua when we bought the boat in to NZ.
