This video deals with the design of the davit system on my St Francis 5o Suliere..
The rib weighed 600 pounds and it had to be lifted out past the extended swimming platform. It was too heavy to lift/lower manually and the in boom reefing system did not allow the boom to be used. These were the constraints that St Francis Marine faced in the design of the davits. The video demonstrates the use of the davit system for both lowering and lifting the rib. In my view is was a brilliant piece of innovation which may spark off ideas for those considering davit systems in the future. The video runs just short of 7 minutes. I hope you enjoy it.
